CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT 101, 201 - Brian Rice
Organize to Win: taking a big picture approach to running a campaign. How to be a community leader, build a local team and manage an active campaign. From fundraising to social media, know what is required of you in order to be a campaign leader.
101 is an essential course for all local organizers. 201 is for those who want more in-depth training to take their leadership to the next level. We recommend that you take the level 101 workshop in order to succeed in the 201 workshop.

CANADIAN CANNABIS HISTORY - Dana Larsen
Learn the hidden history of cannabis in Canada. From the first cannabis crop in 1606 to medical marijuana in early Canada, from the cannabis culture of the 60's to modern day activists and political change. Dana Larsen is the founder of Sensible BC and author of the upcoming "Illustrated History of Cannabis in Canada."
CANNABIS BASICS - Rebecca Ambrose

CANVASS TRAINING 101 - Andrew Radzik

You'll walk through one-on-one interactions, learn right words to tailor your message, and get a chance to practice what you’ve learned. This course is essential for anyone that is interested in taking political action.
CANVASS TRAINING 201 - Andrew Radzik
Learn how to lead a canvassing team. How to set goals, engage volunteers, build morale, run a table, choose locations and target your audience. We'll examine other successful campaigns to highlight the importance of one-on-one individual encounters in modern politics.
Andrew Radzik is the former Outreach Director for the Wilderness Committee and the former Director of Organizing for Vision Vancouver.
COALITION BUILDING 101 - Tonia Winchester
How to build alliances with people and groups traditionally hostile to marijuana reform. Bridging the divide between the law enforcement community and cannabis reformers. Tonia Winchester is a former federal prosecutor who served as the Outreach Director for Washington's successful "New Approach" legalization campaign.
COMMUNICATIONS 101 - Tammy Lea Meyer
Tammy has knocked on over 70,000 doors and trained hundreds of canvassers to connect one on one with people at events and on the doorstep. She’ll introduce the story of self, us and now as developed by Marshall Ganz, and share how we can best tell our stories to inspire action.

Find out how they legalized marijuana in Colorado from the man who made it happen. Unique campaign strategies, controversial ad campaigns, grassroots community organizing tips. Mason Tvert is the founder of SAFER (Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation) and led Colorado's successful legalization campaign. Mason's advertising acumen earned him the nickname of "the Don Draper of Pot" by Politico Magazine, while the Denver Post has named Mason the state's "Top Thinker" in politics.

NationBuilder is an incredible online tool for keeping track of your contacts and volunteers. We'll get you started on the basics of using this program, and some simple challenges to improve your skills. If you don’t know this effective campaign tool then get to know it here with one-on-one instruction and group labs. Computers will be provided but feel free to bring your own laptop or tablet.
